We are a group of Sigma Chi's dedicated to furthering the concept of brotherhood and charity giving. We have established SigmaChiGolf as a mechanism to bring brothers and other interested parties together to foster continued friendship and generate funds for our designated charity -- the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
This is our 3rd year holding this event and we have been very successful in our fund-raising efforts - last year we raised over $10,000 for the MJFF.
Our target this year is to raise $15,000!
Most of the planning for our event is now completed. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village for $109!! Check out the module to the right and click on that link to reserve your room. Do that TODAY! SINCE ROOMS ARE LIMITED AT THIS RATE.
Airport - Jacksonville International and then about an hour drive on 95 to World Golf Village.

So the basics of our outing are as follows: Date - November 6-8; Cost - $250.00 per golfer (if you are bringing a non-playing guest, extra charges for the Pairings Party/Banquet will apply)
Friday, November 5 - Practice Round commences around 12:30. This is optional for participants who may want/need a preliminary round to get your game in shape. Approximate cost is $60 and is not included in your package.
Friday night (following Practice Round) - Pairings Party @ St. Johns Golf Club - Dinner with beer & wine (drinks available at cash bar) - Cocktails start at 6:30 with dinner at 7:15. This event was wildly successful last year as people many people arrived and friendships were renewed. Goodie Bags will be handed out.
Saturday, November 6 - The Tournament - Please arrive around 9:30 am for coffee & danish. Practice balls will be available. We will start the Tourney around 11:15 am. Upon registration you will receive a goody bag [if you did not get it on Friday nite] which includes several fun items. A box lunch will be provided during the round. The format is a Shamble - this is where everyone tees off and you use the best drive. Everyone plays their own ball into the hole. Lowest 2 scores are added for the score. If your handicap is 10 or less you will use the Back Tees. We will have prizes for the winners, closest to the pin contest, longest drive and some others.
Saturday For the Girls - We still need to determine what this item will be about. Last year it was a lunch and Spa Day. The location was at The King & The Bear Golf Course located within the World Golf Village complex. To go to their site, click here. To see the Spa menu in pdf format, click here. Patty DeCesare will be coordinating this event. We will update you when we have completed this activity plan.
Saturday night after golf - The Banquet - This will be a sit-down dinner held last year at Bill Murray's Caddyshack Restaurant. Fun place! Cocktails at 6:30 Pictures of last year's banquet here...
Sunday morning - Brunch - Brunch will be served at The Marriot at 9 am. For those who wish to play more golf, we have arranged a round at Palencia Golf Club [ very nice] starting around 12:40 pm. Cost for Sunday golf is not included in the package and is optional. Please let Ransom[click] know that you would like to play if you have not done so. There is also a field in the sign up form to indicate your interest.
