The Palencia Golf Club in St. Augustine, Florida, opened for play in May 2002 as one of Northeast Florida’s most exclusive golf clubs (yes, you can play it too – details in a minute). Located in historic St. Augustine, this 7,071 yard par 72 layout was designed by Arthur Hills. Hundreds of old-growth oak trees line the fairways and greens and though they were not placed to punish, that they certainly do if you hit a wayward shot. This, together with the winds that blow in from the Intercoastal waterway, means club selection and accuracy off the tee are paramount to making a good score. The Palencia Golf Club has six sets of tees, including the tournament tees, that make the course enjoyable for golfers of all levels of skill. The 18-hole Palencia course plays 7,071 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72, a course rating of 74.1 and a slope of 138 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Arthur Hills, the Palencia golf course opened in 2002.
